Super Simple Belt Tensioner Remix
thingiverse
Remixed of berky93's Super Simple Belt Tensioner and nonlinear's GT2 Belt Tensioner. I borrowed ideas from both designs, merging them into one improved version. The original SSBT had its limitations: the parts wouldn't stay parallel, causing friction on my belts. Nonlinear's design, however, introduced a clever dove tail joint that allowed for easier assembly. But the belt tension kept cracking his GT2 tensioners, so I set out to create a better solution. Here's what you'll need: * 1 M3 x 25mm screw * 1 M3 nyloc nut Once both parts are printed, slide the nyloc nut into the rectangular cavity. The screw goes through the end with the dovetail. Next, bolt "Tensioner 2" to the mounting holes of the belt screw, and loop your belt through the loop in Tensioner 1. Then run the screw from "Tensioner 1" through "Tensioner 2", making sure the dovetail is securely locked in place. Finally, tighten the screw until you achieve proper belt tension. This design works for both X and Y axis belts. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Wanhao * Printer Model: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 * Rafts: No preference * Supports: Yes * Resolution: No specific setting required * Infill: 45% or higher Notes: * Print the parts in the orientation specified in the STL files. This will ensure that the z-axis grain is never in tension. * Print with supports enabled for "Tensioner 2".
