Super Scary Floating Ghost Beer Tap
prusaprinters

This (not so little) ghost beer tap floats on magnets and is made for our halloween party craft beer. It can spin around and has nice magnetic 'springyness'. Feel free to download, assemble and try it yourself.

This is a remix of my "super scary floating ghost" with a larger ghost size and a different magnet arrangement, because the ghost is heavier. Design was done using Gravity Sketch VR, solidworks and Microsoft 3D Builder.
Sadly my (non-prusa) printer had an ugly layershift during printing :(

Assembly instructions:

Depending on your beer tap system you'll need the "Base with Magnets and Pillar" files with the right thread size. I included the most common sizes (3/8" 20 for US or M20-10 for Europe) as .stl and .step for further modification depending on your threading (see 3, 6 and 7). Also, using threaded metal inserts might be better for greater reliabilty.
Next push 8 of 6 mm x 3 mm neodynium magnets into the base. Then push 5 magnets into the ghost in the opposite orientation; this makes the ghost 'float' and spin freely.

We use aluminum pillars with the thread already integrated for our tap system. This allows as to use the 'Base with Magnets' file and switch 3D printed beer taps for each occasion.

I included the 'holes for ghost' .STEP as well as 'Ghost for modification' file for further modification for your tap system.

Print instructions

I'll recommend printing the 'Base with Magnets and Pillar" with pillar with 5 perimeters and at least 25 % infill for increased stability a (after all beer is involved) beacause it will experience the most load. Sanding this part afeter printing might help with the 'springyness' and the rotation of the ghost.

The ghost model should be printed with 2 perimeters and low infill (10 %) to be quite light and float easier.
