Super Mario Odyssey Cappy eyes
thingiverse
Super Mario Odyssey hits stores on October 27, 2017. To create a Cappy hat accessory for cosplay enthusiasts, I designed an eye template that's easy to print and assemble. Simply glue the individual eye parts together and attach them to a red hat. Each layer of the design is just 0.02mm thick, making it perfect for printing on smaller machines in separate colors. To assemble the eyes, simply print each file twice and stack them along the flat edge of the first layer or use the single-piece alternative. The file name indicates which color filament to use (white, black, or red). Since the pieces are designed to be flexible, you can glue them together however you like - straight on, angled, or even create a googly-eyed effect! If you only have one color of filament, feel free to paint it instead. I'm really looking forward to playing Odyssey on my Nintendo Switch. To create this design, I used 3D Builder to prototype the Cappy hat and TinkerCAD to split each side into halves. I'll update with final print results once I swap out my current spool of filament. When I wear it, I plan to pair it with a blazer inspired by Yoshiaki Koizumi's style from the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 (check it out at https://youtu.be/Ntzz8O7SpWs?t=35m38s).
