Super Mario Mushroom

Every year I craft and donate video game themed props for my local Extra Life charity event, starting with the Mario mushrooms of 2015. Using a simple 2D picture as a reference, I modelled a digital file that captured the iconic mushroom shape. Next, I 3D printed the design and smoothed it by hand to achieve a realistic texture. To create multiple copies, I made a two-part mold from Mold Max 30 and duplicated each one in Smooth Cast 300. With patience and attention to detail, I carefully painted each mushroom, bringing them to life. I also designed a printable paper box as a container and display for the finished props.
