I wanted to repurpose the block steps from the original Thing by hollowing them out to hold note paper on my desk, giving new life to an otherwise unused space. Other creative uses were probably possible, but this was the initial idea that came to me. Fortunately, these block steps turned out to be the perfect size for holding 4"x6" 3M lined Post-It note pads.
