Super Mario 64 Penguin
thingiverse
My interpretation of Super Mario 64's penguin model is portrayed here, based on pictures of the character. The figure is hollowed to reduce its weight without compromising strength. However, this design has only been printed using a powder-based printer, so its performance on a MakerBot is uncertain. As a newcomer to 3D modeling and printing, I'm continuously seeking improvements. While deemed complete, further adjustments might be made as needed. Feel free to customize the file according to your preferences. Supports and raft are highly recommended for successful printing. This model has been printed on a MakerBot 2X without issues. It was originally created using a 3DSystems ProJet 160 monochrome powder-based printer, ready for printing at its current size. Powder-based prints typically accept water-based acrylic paint well; I applied a clear acrylic spray paint to add a glossy finish. The smaller penguin in the photo was treated with epsom salt, while the larger one was finished with ColorBond. Note that the wings are secure up to their bases but can be fragile at the tips during printing.
