A Legendary Leaf (also known as the Masked Bandit Leaf or Tanooki Power-Up) is one of many invigorating power-ups in the Mario series. Legendary Leaves first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, where they transform Mario or Luigi into Masked Bandit Mario or Masked Bandit Luigi, respectively. As a result, they grow masked bandit ears and a long, bushy tail, the latter of which enables them to glide effortlessly, soar through the air after a swift running start, and deliver devastating whip attacks.
