The Supercoppa Italiana (Italian Supercoppa Italiana), officially Supercoppa della Liga (Italian Supercoppa di Lega),1 and called Supercoppa Frecciarossa for sponsorship reasons, is a soccer competition in Italy that pits the winner of the Serie A league championship against the winner of the Coppa Italia since its inception in 1988. Initially played at the stadium of the league champion, in recent years this trend is disappearing to be held on neutral ground and in foreign countries. Some of these finals were played in Libya, the United States, China, Qatar or Saudi Arabia.2 The reigning champions are Inter Milan, who defeated Juventus 2:1 after extra time at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in Milan.3
