When I first laid eyes on the PiGRRL from Adafruit, I knew I had to bring it to life, but I wanted to give it a twist, then mid-stream Adafruit raised the bar and released the Super Game Pi. However, I was faced with a major setback - my Printrbot couldn't accommodate its bulk. So, I took matters into my own hands and designed this - my take on the Super Game Pi, dubbed Super Game PiSP. My main goals were to make it print-able on my trusty Printrbot Simple Metal (approximately 150mm^3 volume), reduce the visibility of screws in the design, incorporate a more rounded aesthetic, embed the battery within the device, utilize the Pi B+ (and now it can use the Pi 2 B!), and switch to tactile buttons for a cleaner look. I took inspiration from the original Super Game Pi, tweaking its layout to make it easier on my Printrbot. Here's how I accomplished it: the electronics are virtually identical to Adafruit's Super Game Pi guide, with a few exceptions - I utilized the Pi B+ and swapped out game controller PCBs for tactile buttons. By leveraging the expertise from the Super Game Pi write-up, I've created my take on it, drawing inspiration from but not directly replicating its design. The assembly process is relatively straightforward, utilizing only 3/8 4-40 machine screws. Be prepared to cut two of them short; an M2 screw tap is essential for tapping screw holes in all the pieces. 1) Assemble the bottom three parts and top three parts separately. Install the electronics. Secure the screen in place by sliding it into position and securing it with a small amount of hot glue. Secure the speakers, power switch, and other necessary elements using some more hot glue. However, I discovered that Adafruit released a guide called "Adafruit Perma-Proto Full-sized Breadboard PCB - Single."
