Super ERGO Logitech mouse
thingiverse
I use a mouse for 8-10 hours a day at work, requiring a customized shape to alleviate pressure on my wrist. To create this ergonomic design, I started with a generic mouse and experimented with making adjustments to its shape. The constant strain of using a standard mouse led me to take action, as my wrist would become bent in an unnatural position under the weight of prolonged use. My chosen mouse was the Logitech M510, which I aimed to transform into a more comfortable fit. To achieve this, I employed a creative approach by shaping playdough around the original mouse and then placing my hand on top. Through a process of trial and error, I removed or added material until I found a design that felt perfectly natural in my hand. The final shape was then scanned using an Xbox Kinect and Microsoft's scanning app to create a 3D model. This innovative approach allowed me to capture the precise contours of my hand in a neutral position, resulting in a highly personalized mouse design that significantly reduces wrist strain during prolonged use.
