If you fail to do so, you'll need to use a pick to carefully excavate the excess material. Fortunately, your 3D printer can bridge over this area, keeping it hidden from view. To achieve a snug fit for the bearing cap, be prepared to scrape off any excess plastic that may have accumulated during printing. Glue is not strictly necessary, but applying it will ensure a secure bond between the cap and the bearing.
