I'm looking for a probe with an extremely light touch to fit my 2mm polypropylene sheet on my bed, as my previous micro switch probe was applying too much pressure before taking a measurement. I've dubbed this design "HighTower." I know there are numerous optical probes available, but mine features an opto-isolated component that is shielded from ambient light. This probe is modeled after the BL-TOUCH structure of my previous designs for the BLV carriage and CR-10 mod. You can find these designs on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3367259 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3680458, respectively. However, this probe can also be used instead of a BL touch with an adapter piece. When combined with the BL touch mount and adapter, the total thickness will be 10mm, and the optoblind will move up and down inside it. I'll design the adapter later; you can find a similar design on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3822522. According to my M48 measurements, this probe is remarkably accurate. The servo towerPro clone 9g SG90 and optofork TCST1103 were sourced from AliExpress for approximately €2 total. Note1: When building the circuit, use a 4.7kOhm resistor instead of the 2.2kOhm resistor shown in the schematic. Note2: The opto fork used is actually the TCST 1103, not the one depicted in the schematic. The optoholder at the top can be installed with the opto point facing either left or right. I'll provide more details later.
