thingiverse
Human: 3D Printed SUP Paddle and Handle. The blade and handle are crafted from PLA single layer shell with light infill, showcasing a blend of strength and weight reduction. Core components are compact in size, making them suitable for printing on any standard printer without excessive complexity. Each part is carefully bonded together using CA glue before being sanded to perfection and laminated with fiberglass. The layup consists of three layers of 125GSM plain weave S-glass fabric: one layer oriented straight and two layers cut at a 45-degree angle. A bio-sourced epoxy resin was used for this application. The blade's surface area measures 540 square centimeters, providing ample space for water flow. To ensure optimal performance, the suitable bamboo shaft should have a diameter of 26-27 millimeters at the base and 24-25 millimeters at the handle. Upon completion, the finished blade weighs approximately 280 grams, while the full paddle tips the scales at around 940 grams.
