SunSun 304B/404B/704B Media Basket Replacement
thingiverse
Testing out a replacement media basket for my 404B. Most have had the same issue of the baskets deteriorating over time, so this is a necessary replacement. I'm confident that it's "close enough" right now. I believe the 304B/404B/704B all use identical size baskets, based on how they're advertised regarding replacement parts, so I'm making an educated guess. I didn't do handles, as I wanted to make sure it doesn't require support or bridging, and I can deal with getting the baskets out without it, so I didn't want to waste filament or complicate the prints. I prefer simplicity. Baskets are pretty big, but I have access to a Z18 printer, however if you have a more consumer-oriented printer, these may not fit on your plate. Of note - I've found that normal PLA filament is safe for my freshwater fish setups. I've made several ornaments with it and then simply break them off the build plate, rinse them off, and throw them in the tank to weigh down the substrate with some fish-friendly weight. The fish are fine, no issues have been reported. If you're using other filaments, though, I'm not sure how that'll turn out without letting it sit in old water for days or maybe even not using it at all - unsure about chemical release times. **EDIT 9/4/2019** Basket height changed from 64mm to 59.75mm. The total height of four stock baskets is now 239mm. I'm still trying to figure out what I was doing with my original design, but it turned out that the filter wouldn't close and now it'll fit better.
