Sunken Plane

Sunken Plane

My friend Charlie and I conducted an in-depth scan of a sunken plane at a rock quarry as part of my dissertation field research for my DPhil at the University of Oxford. The plane lies in several pieces, with both wings detached; the port wing is clearly visible in the scan. Although the landing gear was lowered, it didn't offer sufficient clearance for me to capture detailed images of the aircraft's underside. In total, this was an exciting scanning experience and the data was gathered within about 90 minutes of dive time.
