Here is the spun text: Replacement x carriage for Sunhokey Prusa I3. The goal of this design is to create a sturdier platform for the hotend to be mounted on, eliminating play and ensuring precision. To achieve this, I opted for ball bearings instead of linear ones, and used screws to fine-tune the pressure on the track for optimal results. The end result came out even better than expected. There are some minor touch-ups needed here and there, but nothing major. [Update 2016-05-06] A mount point was added for M4 Allen screw on both sides to be used as an end stop trigger. During working on this design, I stumbled upon the "E3D v6 Bowden X-carriage mount Prusa i3" by Tech2C ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:547706 ). This excellent hotend mount did exactly what I needed, so I modified it to fit my X carriage instead of designing my own from scratch. I drew inspiration for using ball bearings from "Bearing block for 8 mm shaft, 3 x 623zz bearings at 120 degrees" by good_idea ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1424346 ). Although I approached it differently in the end, I wanted to acknowledge the influence. I also used good_idea's design on my printer while printing these parts, as the original linear bearings just weren't up to par. Here are the necessary materials: 8 Ball bearings 624zz 4 Ball bearings 623zz (you can fit them if you want) 8 Allen screws m4 16mm 6 Allen screws m4 20mm 6 m4 nuts 4 Allen screws m3 16mm 4 m3 nuts Print Settings: Printer: Sunhokey Prusa I3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 33% Notes: I printed the mine at 0.2 mm with PLA at a speed of 35mm/s. Post-Printing: I drilled the holes for 4mm to 3.5 mm after print. Other holes might need drilling as well.
