Sunhokey Prusa i3 Hot End Bracket V2
thingiverse
I'm designing a second version of my hot end bracket for a Sunhokey Prusa i3 printer. While I haven't tested this part yet, there may be issues that need to be addressed. The frame is stiffer than the original and has space for an additional SC8UU bearing, which costs around $2 each on eBay, to prevent the bearings from rocking. Version 2 includes room for two extra fans, although I haven't modeled the attachments yet. It also offers extra support for the hot end. There are spaces for the GT2 timing belt, hot end fan and bracket, as well as both X-axis limit switches. This design was created with minimal filament consumption in mind. Print Settings: Printer: Sunhokey Prusa i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% for strength Notes: Make sure to add support everywhere as it's designed to be printed from its side. My print was PLA with an ABS slurry to improve bed adhesion. Post-Printing: Bearing alignment is critical at first, just like when building the printer. If the bearings don't travel smoothly and drag against the rods, they need realignment. Begin by lightly tightening all bearings then jiggle them until smooth. Gradually tighten each bolt while continuously checking for smoothness of travel.
