Sunhokey Prusa i3 Hot End Bracket Rev3
thingiverse
This is my third version of a hot end bracket designed for a Sunhokey Prusa i3 printer. After thorough testing, it performs flawlessly! The frame is notably sturdier than its original counterpart, with ample space to accommodate two additional SC8UU bearings, which effectively eliminate any rocking motion. Each bearing costs approximately $2 on eBay. In this iteration, the extruder is positioned higher up, ensuring a full 180mm of Z-axis print space remains available. Conveniently, there are designated spaces for the GT2 timing belt, hot end fan, and bracket, as well as both X-axis limit switches. Printer Settings: Printer: Sunhokey Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 100% Notes: I opted for PLA due to its exceptional rigidity compared to ABS. The final part exhibits minimal flex, and the PLA remains stable as long as it's kept below 60°C. However, if you regularly print with ABS using a heated bed and hot box, you may prefer ABS since the PLA tends to soften noticeably above 65-70°C. To ensure longevity, utilize high-quality PLA, which has demonstrated remarkable durability even when exposed to direct sunlight year-round; my only criticism is that the color may fade over time.
