Sunhokey Prusa i3 Hot End Bracket
thingiverse
This is the first version of my brand-new hot end bracket for a Sunhokey Prusa i3. The frame itself is significantly stiffer than the original and accommodates an extra SC8UU bearing (priced at approximately $2 each on eBay), which prevents the bearings from rocking. There are dedicated spaces for the GT2 timing belt, hot end fan, and bracket, as well as both X-axis limit switches. The design focuses on minimizing filament consumption. A new version I'm currently developing can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1287974 Print Settings: Printer: Sunhokey Prusa i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 to 0.2 Infill: 100% for maximum strength Notes: Ensure you add support everywhere, as this model is specifically designed to be printed from its side. My print was PLA with an ABS slurry applied to enhance bed adhesion. Post-Printing: Bearing Alignment It's crucial that you align the bearings properly just like when you first built the printer to prevent them from dragging and scraping against the smooth rods. Initially, just lightly tighten all the bearings, then gently jiggle them until their travel is smooth. Tighten each bolt incrementally while continuously testing for smoothness of travel.
