Sunhokey Prusa i3 Cooling shroud
thingiverse
Hello! This is my first attempt at designing an all-in-one cooling shroud, and I'm really excited to share it with you! I've always been a huge fan of the Prusa i3 from Sunhokey - it's an incredible machine that can produce top-notch prints with just a few tweaks. What inspired me was the sleek design of leading manufacturers' print heads, and I wanted to bring that same level of sophistication to the Prusa i3. My goal was to create a shroud that not only provides ample cooling but also has a clean, streamlined look with minimal visible wires. And let's be honest - who doesn't love a good challenge? I designed it to be easy to install and remove from the stock Prusa i3, although you will still need to wire those fans yourself. Now, I'll be the first to admit that this is my first foray into designing something like this, so it's not perfect. I've made a few tweaks along the way, but there are definitely some areas where I'd love feedback from more experienced designers. For instance, I moved the fans forward slightly to prevent them from interfering with the frame at the edges of the table. I also added a small notch so you can see the print nozzle, but I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out - it's still a bit obscured. The outlet for the fan shrouds could use some work too; I'm not sure what I did wrong there! However, I tried to design it so that the air isn't blowing directly on the heating element, which is a major concern. One area where I'm particularly unsure is whether there's enough airflow going over the heatsink. I've thought about adding a few slits to let some additional airflow in from the big fans - it might be worth exploring further down the line. Overall, I'm happy with how things are shaping up, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
