Horizontal spool mount for Sunhokey Prusa I3, a 2015 Version Since I had extra M3 nuts and bolts from the Sunhokey kit, I built a spool holder using some 623ZZ bearings and 3mm rod I had available. Instructions: Materials Needed: 1. 20 cm M3 threaded rod or 4-40 threaded rod 2. Four 623ZZ bearings 3. Three M3 30 mm screws 4. Four M3 nuts Remove one M3 bolt that holds the acrylic top piece and thread the rod into the bottom disc, then secure it with a nut in the acrylic frame. Be careful not to over-tighten the disc onto the frame, as this can easily break the acrylic. Spool Mount Option 1: Use bearing disc and one spool cone Similar to the design shown at Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31678), thread a single nut onto the bottom disc, use three nuts to hold bearings on the M3 bolts, secure the bearing disc with three screws, and insert one bearing into the bearing disc. Tighten the M3 screws just enough to hold the bearing in place since mine was loose in the hole. Spool Mount Option 2: Use two spool cones - no bearings needed Comparable to the design displayed at Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:569454), I found that bearings are not essential for spinning.
