I assembled the x-carriage according to jeh241_makestuff's instructions, but ran into an issue installing the 40mm fan: the E3D Clamp wouldn't accommodate the mounting screw. To solve this problem, I modified the original clamp by carving out a section on its side to make room for the screw and eliminate the need for constant disassembly and reassembly to get it properly aligned with the x-carriage.
