Sunglasses mount for car dashboard
thingiverse
I wanted to store my sunglasses in the car without constantly folding the arms each time. Folding them was getting old, and tightening the screws that keep the arms stiff wasn't fun anymore. Now I can simply place them in this mount on the dash without having to fold the arms at all. Of course, you still have the option to fold them if you prefer that way of doing things. To ensure a smooth installation process, make sure to mount it with the higher side closest to the front of the car. This allows for easier placement of your glasses into the mount. I designed this mount pretty loose so it can fit a wide variety of sunglasses out there. I've personally tested it with four different pairs and they all worked perfectly fine. Your glasses might slide a little if you're cornering fast, but don't worry, they won't go anywhere unless your car is doing an upside-down stunt. If that's the case, you have much bigger problems to deal with. You'll need some double-sided tape to attach this mount securely to your dash. No additional supports are required. However, stringing might occur unless you've got your settings well-tuned. It's a good idea to have a file handy to deal with any loose strings that pop up during the installation process. If you end up installing this mount, I'd love to hear about it!
