Sunglasses holder
thingiverse
I needed a convenient spot for my sunglasses where they wouldn't get scratched or slide around in the car. Printer Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% Notes: I still use and like ABS as an engineering plastic. I designed this knowing I could push two Xmas tree-style trim buttons through a plastic cover panel in the car's roof. The panel came off easily, allowing me to drill two suitable holes. If the project failed, I could remove the sunglass holder and replace the two Xmas tree buttons, making them look like they were meant to be there from the start. I used two velcro sticky spots with the fluffy side facing out to prevent lens scratches when placing or removing the glasses from the holder. A light push upwards and out frees the folded arms, and they've never fallen out on their own.
