I crafted some sunglasses because it's summer. There are two versions available: bruen44.stl: This one is meant to be printed in a single piece, including the hinges. It actually works very well but the frame is a bit fragile and looks a bit rough with some materials when printed in this orientation. Printing it upside down will use much less support material. Pros: Prints in one piece Printable hinges!! ... Profit! Cons: Support removal can become critical to the structural integrity of the frame Looks less awesome More fragile bruen48*.stl: This comes in three pieces which can be tucked together afterwards very easily. Pros: Much nicer finish on the front face Grooves for the glasses come out more precise Side pieces can be printed in different colours/materials It's possible to disassemble the glasses You can get rid of the lettering easily Support removal is easier with almost no visible residues Cons: Several pieces A bit more wobbly side pieces (but they're both quite wobbly to be honest) I haven't put in real glasses/lenses yet; I have to find some cheap ones to get them cut into the right shape. The picture I've attached is from version #48.
