Update 08/09/19 I've nearly completed designing the first version of the chart plotter and am currently printing out just the electronics layout to ensure perfect placement. The electronics I'm mounting in the design include: * SUNFOUNDER 10.1 INCH TOUCHSCREEN * Raspberry Pi A+ (should fit Pi4 or 3B+, but would have to cut an access plate on the right side to access USB and Ethernet) * Openplotter Canbus Adapter * TPLink USB 3.0 7 port powered hub (case removed and directly mounted the board) * Using IP67 rated 2 pint power connector plug set for power (https://www.ebay.com/itm/254064059800 ) * M12 Front Mount Female A 4P wolder wire connector for canbus (https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/industrial-automation-circular-connectors/1345754/ ) * WaveShare 10DOF IMU Sensor V2 * GY-NEO6MV2 Module NEO-6M GPS Board + Antenna Disclaimer: I've yet to get all of those components working in the device, so it's possible the IMU or GPS will be replaced with other hardware. This text facilitates the construction of a marine chart plotter using openplotter open source raspberry pi software. I had this screen lying around and could only find one other case 3D model online, but I wanted to build something more rugged. I've constructed it with future IP rating in mind, planning to place an o-ring or silicon gasket between the main enclosure and bezel to seal the unit, making it impermeable to unexpected splash or limited rain. This unit is currently a blank box, but I plan to install access panels and various outlets into 3D model once I've received the said hardware. It's designed to be printed without supports. I recommend ABS for durability, UV resistance, and potential vapour smoothing, further improving its resistance to the elements. You can print it with whatever you want to suit your expected usage. You'll need some M3 nuts and bolts for construction: * 20 x M3x20 bolts * 20 x M3 nuts The modified box will require some support. I set overhang to 80% and minimum support area to 25mm2 to prevent it from filling all of the nut spaces.
