The Fornminnissavnið Museum in Iceland has documented an archaeological site on Sundi, which includes a medieval farm. This ancient farm once stood near the shores of two lakes before being relocated to the south. The medieval farm of Sund was situated somewhere between these two lakes, its remnants still visible today.
