Sunbeam at the Greenwich Royal Museum, London

This iconic figurehead by Constance Alberta Brassey proudly stands on permanent display at the Greenwich Royal Museum in London. The sole surviving remnants of the Sunbeam, a vessel that braved numerous voyages around the world, is this striking figurehead. A poignant tribute to Constance, it bears a resemblance to her daughter Annie's likeness, who tragically passed away at just 4 years old due to scarlet fever. It is believed that the first circumnavigation of the globe was in part a response to this heartbreaking loss. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World," a groundbreaking non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. Through this innovative project, we are creating a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the world for the public to access free of charge. Scan The World is an open-source community effort, and if you have intriguing items in your possession that you'd like to contribute, simply email stw@myminifactory.com to discover how you can make a valuable contribution.
