I am currently utilizing the Sunbeam Tiger body design from Skipstitch, which can be viewed at https://www.thingiverse.com/skipstitch/about . He creates some fascinating projects. This is a thin-walled body, and I have encountered difficulty in printing it; therefore, you must print with a thick shell. The interior chassis features doors and cards that enhance its strength when glued in. I designed an interior and chassis for this car to enable its use as a Slot Car. I used the seats from Skipstitch, which resulted in some cutting being required to allow clearance for the motor. I have also included a design of the interior without seats or man that does not require any cutting for motor clearance. The dash, bumpers, lights, and other features are all taken from Skipstich. If you simply use the interior without the seats and driver, this will not pose an issue when using the car as a Slot Car. I employed an electric toothbrush motor in this car, which is fast; therefore, it would be best to use ABS, and you may find that PLA can be problematic at high speeds unless you are an exceptional driver! You will need to align the body and drill holes to match the screws you wish to use to secure the body to the chassis. You will also require a Scalextric or similar track guide for the build. "You will need running gear." My test car was printed at low resolution, using the CubePro Trio, which is not ideal for fine detail. I plan to print another final design with the Anycubic Mega S at high resolution, which should be excellent. I will post the completed Sunbeam body shortly as I believe it requires a slightly thicker wall and I will print it at 0.1mm wall height. I primarily use SolidWorks to design and develop all of my models. This software is amazing, allowing me not only to design, print, and test models but also rendering, which is a great deal of fun. CAD Microsolutions is my dealer, and their support is fantastic.
