Sun Tracker for Ring Camera Solar Panel 3D print model
cgtrader
This DIY solar tracker is designed to maximize sun exposure for the Ring battery-operated camera's solar panel. It's completely powered by the Sun, following it from sunrise to sunset without relying on batteries. Only a small DC motor, pulleys, supports, and solar panels are used in this tracker. The supporting structures - pulleys, supports, and mounting clips - can be printed on a 3D printer, and STL files for these components are available here. A lazy susan is needed to connect the pulleys, and an elastic cord of any type works well; I've used a sewing machine cord myself. The base is made from a lightweight round disc with a 9-inch diameter, which can be constructed from stiff cardboard or even lightweight wood. It's essential not to leave this device in the rain. Using it on sunny days to replenish the camera battery when its power levels get low is an effective way to top it off completely. The Ring solar panel clips make easy work of attaching and removing the Ring solar panel to its normal resting place or on the tracker itself.
