Sun-pumped, ground-cooled condenser
grabcad
This NBD Nano competition entry proposes a low-cost, high efficiency water condensing system using an internal hose coated with NBD Nano condenser surface. The underground hose coil design takes advantage of cooler ground temperatures to enhance condensation, while the sun-powered above-ground coil creates suction for airflow. A sealed buffer tank manages airflow and water collection, while a Venturi pump siphons water from below ground. The system's efficiency can be scaled up by adding more hose length, potentially surpassing standard open-air designs' rates. Practical construction involves winding the hose around upright poles and filling in the surrounding area with dirt. An inverted bottom coil design could further improve efficiency. Multiple file formats of a SketchUp model accompany the submission for viewing purposes.
