Sun Filter for 150mm Newton Telescopes
thingiverse
I designed a Sun Filter that should fit most 150mm Reflector Telescopes. I'm using it with my SkyWatcher 150/750 Explorer. -To get started, grab a filter foil and cut out a circle with a diameter of 140mm. -Print out the two parts separately. -Place the foil in the outer ring and carefully push the inner ring into position. Make sure to avoid touching the foil with your fingers as it may be damaged easily. -Consider adding some layers of tape around the outer ring (as shown in the pictures) to ensure a secure fit. This is crucial, as the filter should not fall out while viewing the sun, which can be extremely hazardous! -Enjoy the view! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never look directly at the sun through a telescope without a certified Sun Filter. Only purchase a high-quality, certified sunfilter foil to ensure safety. Always cover your finder scope when pointing at the sun. Warning: Risk of blindness Use this filter at your own risk. If it doesn't fit perfectly to your Telescope, do not use it.
