Sump or tank water level monitor system

What's behind this intriguing setup you may wonder? This is an ambitious project that keeps a close eye on liquid levels within a tank. To facilitate this task, specially designed 3D printable parts are in place to securely attach a waterproof ultrasonic distance sensor to the rim of the tank. These parts cater specifically to my Delta Dual v3 Sump and Pump setup, ensuring precise mounting and obstacle-free sensing. The project box with an integrated display leverages an Arduino Mega to send MQTT messages to a server, providing real-time updates on water levels, temperature, and humidity readings. Additionally, it triggers an alarm if the water level exceeds a predetermined threshold. With Node-RED at its core, calibration can be effortlessly performed through a user-friendly web interface. A crucial component is the little grommet, where you insert the waterproof JSN-SR04T ultrasonic distance sensor. The unique design of this grommet features ribs that enable you to securely attach a 32mm waste pipe, ensuring the sensor points directly down the pipe without any deviations. Introducing even a slight angle would render the setup ineffective. The diagonal bracket attaches to the sump rim's corner, and an arm connects to it via M6 bolts and wing nuts. Alternatively, you can use your preferred fastening method – I opted for printing my own nuts and bolts to avoid rust concerns and save costs.
