Sumolectric - "All In One Gym" Concept

This concept for an "All In One Gym" was created for the University of Toronto Design League's 2022 Designathon. The challenge was to combine previously individual pieces of workout equipment into 1 compact unit.This design won first place.Our solution is a 3 sided workout machine that uses a digital weight system. The system allows the design to have a substantially reduced weight and footprint. This is due to the removal of the individual weight stacks. We also incorporated folding benches into the design to help reduce the footprint when the machine is not in use. Enhanced safety features have also been implemented both passively due to the design of the mechanisms and actively through the workout assistant. The mechanisms lock out all the ropes and pulleys when not in use, reducing the chances of entanglement. The workout assistant is able to activate and deactivate the weights.
