Sumobot Chassis

So this is a project I've been kicking around with my robotics club here at Tufts. Back in high school, I dabbled with sumobots but it turned out to be pretty dull since everyone was using the same kit robot and the same code. The Makerbot is a total game changer here. With its ability to totally customize a sumobot from scratch with relatively little effort, it's awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing whole Makerbot sumobot tournaments. Full disclosure... this print is pretty challenging and really pushes the limits of build size. My Makerbot was up to the task of handling the 2.5-hour print and resulted in only minor warping but it was definitely a little nerve-wracking to watch. I'm currently working on another version with multiple parts that slot together, which would ensure more uniformity across Makerbots.
