The Sumner class, comprising 58 destroyers constructed by the US during WWII, featured dual rudders, twin 5"/38cal gun mounts, and enhanced anti-aircraft weaponry compared to their predecessors in the Fletcher class. Measuring 10 feet longer than the latter, they became the basis for the Gearing class. These ships served in the US Navy until the 70s, with some being sold to other navies. Two still exist as museum vessels. Constructed individually, slight differences may occur across vessels.
