Sukia (or Jawá)

Sukia (or Jawá)

myminifactory

I am creating a replica of a carving made from granite or basalt stone by the ancient Cabecar tribe of pre-Columbian Costa Rica. The Sukia, or Jawá, was a revered holy man who bridged the spiritual and physical realms. As shaman, medicine man, and occasionally undertaker, this respected figure possessed in-depth knowledge of their history, medicinal plants, sacred stones imbued with magical powers, cosmological visions, and healing incantations.
