The Sukhoi Su-7, known as Fitter-A by NATO, was a supersonic, swept-wing fighter jet created by the Soviet Union in 1955. Initially designed for tactical low-level dogfighting, it wasn't successful in this role. However, its subsequent Su-7B series became the primary Soviet fighter-bomber and ground assault aircraft of the 1960s. The Su-7 was characterized by its durability and simplicity, but faced limitations such as short range and low weapon capacity.[1]
