Sukhoi Su-17/22 M4 Fitter K

The Sukhoi Su-17/22 M4 Fitter K, a versatile fighter-bomber with an adjustable wing, was developed from the older Su-7. This aircraft has been in production for over two decades, with more than 2,800 units manufactured in various versions. The Su-17, Russia's first variable-sweep wing aircraft, boasts impressive durability and range capabilities. Export variants, including the Su-20 and Su-22, were downgraded with less advanced avionics but still flew in several countries, such as those in the Eastern Bloc, Arab nations, Angola, and Peru. Some of these countries continue to utilize this aircraft. The proposed model is the Su-17M4/Su-22M4 Fitter K, one of the latest variants produced from 1983 to 1990 and subject to user updates to extend its service life. This model comes in three versions, each featuring a different wing configuration: 28°, 45°, and 62°. The model is supplied at a scale of 1:100 but can be printed at smaller scales using the same nozzle size or even larger with a 0.4mm nozzle. The recommended print settings include 0.2mm layers for optimal results. I opted to create a two-part version to preserve most of the aircraft's tail and nose details, which were then sanded down to ensure a seamless joint when glued together.
