Suitecase (Prince) lock
thingiverse
I acquired two suitcases from my great-grandmother, both significantly older than me. These two suitcases hold a special place in my heart as a testament to our family's rich history. The original locks are crafted from an unknown metal, possibly nickel due to its magnetic properties and resistance to corrosion - but that's beside the point. The locks eventually gave way, and despite my repeated efforts to repair them using welding, soldering, or adhesives, none of these solutions proved durable. Instead, I opted for a more comprehensive approach. I completely disassembled the lock components and redesigned the entire mechanism from scratch. The results are detailed in the attached files.
