Suicide Knob for Steering Wheel

Suicide Knob for Steering Wheel

I decided to create a suicide knob for my truck, so I took matters into my own hands and made one from scratch. I designed it with two colors in mind to give the Cummins logo a raised appearance. Printing at 0.025 mm layer height turned out well. I used ABS plastic on my QIDI Tech I printer, making sure the top clamp piece was solid for extra strength. The other parts could be lightweighted without compromising performance. The screw holes are designed for #6 machine screws, but they'll need to be drilled out to fit perfectly. The center hole is intended for a socket head cap screw, which will thread into the knob itself. I used a #10 screw initially, but had to drill it out for a better fit. My design accommodates a steering wheel with a 1.125" diameter. Edit: After using my original design, I noticed that the top clamp broke off at the stud, so I added a fillet to improve its strength. I've also uploaded a version of the knob without the logo for those who prefer it.
