Sugar-O-Matic Smart Container

Sugar-O-Matic Smart Container

thingiverse

This lovely little container is a game-changer on any countertop! You can depend on this compact and useful device to remind you if you're running low on sugar, flour or any other powdered food staple. The ingenious design makes use of a small but powerful microcontroller, three LEDs, a photoresistor and a USB port to shine bright with an eye-catching display that turns red when it's time for more, and green when you're good to go! Instructions I can create a detailed Instructable if needed that shows exactly how to wire up everything from scratch. However, it's essential to take note that if your hands are quite large then the design won't fit all together at once so be prepared to print some components separately. Reaching inside this compact container can be quite a challenge especially for those with smaller hands, and adding a photo sensor or an LED may require patience and precision. In fact, even experienced users faced some problems while trying to create a raft for the larger component; hence a solution has been added as an extra option for your convenience. Make sure that the Container is printed at 100% infill. Also the lid can be done without support material unless you are bold enough. You will find the code for the microcontroller in the Downloads section which works perfectly well with Attiny85 Trinket, 7V from Adafruit but can also work seamlessly with other available controllers as there's no real need to limit yourself!
