Suffolk Soldiers Memorial in Christchurch, Ipswich

The bronze memorial sculpture, permanently on display in Christchurch UK, was established by Suffolk's residents as a tribute to the soldiers from Suffolk who made the ultimate sacrifice during the South African War, 1899-1902. Completed early in the 1900s, the base of the sculpture lists the names of all the soldiers who lost their lives in the war. The male figure on top represents one of these fallen soldiers, carrying a large gun to the ground with a gesture that exudes memory and elegance. This object is part of "Scan The World".
