Sufficient Trophy System
thingiverse
This was printed using a silk "gold" PLA and "wood" PLA for the base. 20% infill .2 mm layer height. The trophy and plaque requires supports. The base parts can be printed without supports. The laptop was based on "Model Laptop" by cymon and modified to be on a base compatible with my base design. The generic trophy was made by tc_fea and I added the peg to put it on the stand. A lot of this design isn't perfect, the trophy itself required supports that were difficult to remove. There is an elephant foot problem too on the trophy for the press fit. There are four parts to the design: trophy, plaque, base, and base lid. The trophy and plaque have a 3 mm square peg that press fits into holes in the base. The base is hollow and can be printed without supports. The intent was to add weight to the inside (I like to use rocks) so it feels more substantial. The base lid hides the weight, and even further I add felt to the bottom to ensure it doesn't scratch anything. I also used Danish oil on the base since it had real wood in it to see if it would bring out the wood look.
