Sueno's Stone
sketchfab
Sueno's Stone stands tall at 7 meters, a colossal Pictish cross-slab carved between 800 and 900 AD in Forres, Scotland. Its intricate carvings tell a rare and complex story of war, while another scene depicts a unique royal inauguration. This ancient stone once overlooked the rivers Mosse and Findhorn's marshy floodplains. Despite being over a thousand years old, it remains closely tied to its original location. A precise 3D model was created using photogrammetry and laser scanning to capture every detail of its elaborate carvings. Sueno's Stone is now under the care of Historic Environment Scotland.
