Suction Head for Zimpure on Prusa Mk3S
thingiverse
This is my first version of a suction head for the Zimpure system on the Prusa Mk3S. It has proven to be prone to melting due to its proximity to the hot end. I highly recommend using a very high-temperature material, as PETG is not sufficient and will melt under these conditions. If you are planning to use PETG, I suggest checking out Version 2 at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3490537. With the redesigned extruder head assembly on the Prusa Mk3S, the original Zimpure suction head no longer fits properly. To accommodate this limitation, I designed a new suction head in Fusion 360 that takes into account the limited space available on the Mk3S. The suction head is specifically designed to be as close to the nozzle as possible. There is a 1mm gap between the nozzle and the bottom of the HotEnd. The bottom face of the nozzle is precisely aligned with the PINDA probe. Under these conditions, I recommend using PETG or ABS due to their proximity to the HotEnd. To maintain the maximum cross-section for airflow, I reduced the tip of the suction head to a single layer thickness. This was a challenging print that required some cleanup. To avoid excessive material buildup, I would recommend reducing the infill in this area to 50% at most. The design includes three holes that share the Noctua fan fasteners. After installing, I determined that the fastener closest to the X axis is not necessary and can be safely broken off, leaving only the two fasteners further from the X axis. This eliminates interference with the X Axis's full left position. To install the nozzle, replace the lower fan fastener with a M3x25 bolt and four M3 washers. Replace the top fan fastener with a M3x16 bolt as well. These modifications ensure smooth operation of the printer. The printer performs normally with the suction head installed and requires no additional modifications. I also recommend printing the STLAccroche_tuyau.STL file on Zimpure's website under the MK3 section: https://www.zimple3d.com/zimpure/Prusa/mk3/, as it provides essential support for the suction tube.
