Suction cup mount for amateur radio 5m vertical antenna
thingiverse
This is a base for 5m long telescopic vertical antenna with M10x1.5 thread at the bottom. It's using 3 suction cups - look for "camping suction cup" on ebay/aliexpress, they are originally equipped with a hook on a piece of strap, we won't need that here. The extra hole on one leg is for a convenient piece to connect some radials. You can attach the whole thing to your favourite flat surface, be it a car roof (my original idea - non magnetic ones work, too), a picnic table of whatever comes to your mind.Clean surface will probably improve your results. The cups can easily hold the fully extended vertical horizontally (when attached to a vertical surface) so it should be usable in a light wind condx.Onshape link, if you'd like to customize it somehow: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/180f921a5ebf83286e8461dc/w/d09cd4336572d543ba50425f/e/bf726b6711e9374b9a9a1842The pictures are kind of self-explainatory, I've designed for a BNC connector, but it should not be a problem to replace it with your loved one.5m vertical should work without a tuner on 20 meters band, for "higher bands" aka higher frequencies - reduce the length, for lower bands - add some coil or use a tuner. It's a regular vertical, no surprises. Radials are necessary.Printed in PLA since it's October and I don't expect it to melt anytime soon. Suction cups may not work well in negative °C, use with caution.73 & good DX.
