thingiverse
A small but charming succulent planter for Mother's Day 2017 measures approximately 7"x7"x4". Its compact size makes it a great last-minute gift for the procrastinator in all of us, and its design proudly declares "Mother's Day 2017." Five holes, one in each corner, ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogged soil. This simple planter is perfect for small plants. History: In botany, succulents are plants with thickened, fleshy parts that store water in arid environments. The term "succulent" originates from the Latin word sucus, meaning juice or sap. Succulents store water in various structures, including leaves and stems. Some definitions also include roots, so geophytes that survive harsh conditions by storing organs underground are considered succulents. Process: Designing this planter was a breeze! I created a pentagon shape, extruded it, then made a smaller pentagon inside and extruded that too. Using the BooleanDifference function, I easily cut out the middle section. Adding text was the final step. The process was effortless, but downloading and printing the design is even simpler!
