Subtilisin
thingiverse
Subtilisin is a non-specific protease, a protein-digesting enzyme initially extracted from Bacillus subtilis. Subtilisins are part of the subtilases group, serine proteases that initiate nucleophilic attacks on peptide (amide) bonds through a serine residue at their active site. Notably, the catalytic mechanism is identical to Trypsin's. The STL file contains a protein representation in cartoon form with catalytic residues depicted as spheres. This model is based on Protein Data Bank entry 1CSE: http://www.pdb.org/pdb/explore/explore.do?pdbId=1cse. This model was created using VMD: http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/.
