Subsonic GT40 splash guard

I designed these water shields to keep me dry during long trips on my Subsonic GT40, where longboard wheels tend to splash water everywhere in wet weather. Previous attempts using metal covers mounted to the truck axle were unsuccessful due to poor fit, rattling noises, and reduced responsiveness. I opted for a better solution by attaching them directly to the truck base, allowing them to hang over the board. Note: This project is ongoing! I printed four prototypes in PETG and tested them on a 60km ride. The results were impressive - they effectively kept me dry. However, they proved fragile due to continuous foot contact near the edge of the truck base, where PETG's brittleness becomes a concern. To address this issue, I may strengthen the design or switch to more durable materials like ABS or Nylon. Additionally, despite the gap between the cover and standing platform, I encountered vibration issues when riding. This was caused by the two parts touching each other. To resolve this problem, I need to increase the airgap between them.
